The Daphne Syndrome
The Daphne Syndrome
Hybrid Novel
Lindhardt & Ringhof, 2021
Danish cover: Laura Silke / Birk Bjørlo
Translated to French
A teenage boy at a folk high school in the 1990s. A woman who has passed the age of 170. A nymph with a grudge against the god Apollo. What they all share is transformation. The Daphne Syndrome is a sensuous blend of sci-fi, Greek mythology, and poetry — a tale of metamorphosis, escape, and transcending oneself to become one with nature.
In Politiken, Benedicte Gui de Thurah Huang wrote:
“Utterly breathtaking … The depictions of the settings are spot-on … the comparisons are so delightful, it’s easy to be left speechless.”
